Great for breakfast, but it is always crowded, which is a good thing!

Had the BBQ Pulled Pork Rachel Sandwich and the Fried Green Tomato BLT for lunch today with the hubs. The Rachel was delicious (on rye) and would go back just for that sandwich! The BLT was not so great...the bacon was very fatty and chewy-most BLT's have crispy bacon and lots of it. Their horsey sauce (creamy horseradish aka chantilly sauce) is super yummy

Love the food there! I get steak and eggs everytime... delicious. Great breakfast place!

Uhhhhh........ If the flies buzzing around you and your food don't scare you away, their extended seating in the enclosed porch area will. The chairs and tables were filthy and in need of replacement, the coverings on the windows were peeling off and cracked. The windows that are right next to you if you sit at a booth were filthy with cracks, stains and dead bugs on them. This joint is a disaster and is totally ready for either an overhaul, if the owner has a brain or the building should be condemned if the city has a brain.

Homemade corn beef hash and grits were really tasty, and the server was very nice. Our dishes were flavorful and fresh. It took over half an hour to get our food though, apparently an ongoing problem. I wouldn't recommend this place if you are in a hurry.

Not that good, not that bad. Fine for what you pay for. Our waitress was a gem tho.

Always drove by this place but never stopped in until one day my boyfriend suggested it. Was really impressed with the food, I had a hard time deciding what to order. Everything was delicious; I had the fried green tomato BLT and mashed potatoes with gravy. Definitely give this place a try, I will certainly be back again.

Ate breakfast here for first time this AM and I can't wait to come back. Everything was perfect from the server to the food. The eggs were cooked exactly as ordered, the grits were so creamy and the coffee robust and hot. My server was very attentive and my coffee cup never empty.

My favorite brunch place in the area. The best gluten-free French toast and their grits are amazing. This place is a must have !!!! The pricing is great as well.

Stopped into Sweetwater Cafe, sadly on our way back to California. Loved our stay whilst in South Carolina; the people, the weather, the history and architecture and especially the food! We needed breakfast badly to counter-balance the weekend festivities and the Yelp reviews were spot-on. The wifey ordered the Corned Beef hash breakfast and I ordered the two-egg breakfast with sausage links. If I hadn't said this before I'll say it again, I'll order the "basics" on any menu during my first visit because if the restaurant can't get the simple stuff right, what are chances they can make the complicated entrees correct? Service - perfect with a smile. Breakfast - awesome; good portions and very tasty. We both liked the grilled biscuit - different, but good. Our future visits to South Carolina will definitely include a visit to Sweetwater Cafe. Thank you very much for a great breakfast!

Today one the way out we stopped in for a family breakfast with eight of us. The parking lot was slam full and we had a 10 minute wait as the restaurant was completely full. So after the wait we were seated by the hostess and then set down and then we chatted we are waitress that was expecting and she made us feel right at home. The menu had a lot of unique breakfast items to try, I settled on the salami and cheese omelette with a cup of she crab soup as a side. The sides are also unique but the ones with astrics have an up charge. The meal was great I would definitely come back to try the frosted flake encrusted French toast. If you staying on Folly Beach I would say it's worth the ten to fifteen minute drive depending on traffic.

Cruised in here for an early lunch because they accept AMEX and serve lunch at 10:30 AM. Good value for the money. I enjoyed their crab cakes and they had good coffee. The plastic worn out cups date the place but everything else including service was great.

Great breakfast spot for us on the way to a day at the beach in Folly! Have tried French toast, eggs, bacon, hash browns all good!

Had this place for brunch on Friday and the crowd wasn't bad at all. Usually whenever I ride by the place is packed! The service was great. Our server suggested the grits along with the crabcake benedict which was amazing! I've had my share of grits but these!!!! The grits were creamy and I didn't need to add anything to it. AMAZING! And the benedict was very filling. The hollandaise sauce was very tasty and the English muffin soaked it up perfectly. I would love to come back for dinner.

Stopped here on the way out of Folly Beach, 6 adults and 2 children. Place was packed, waited about 15m. Very friendly, attentive staff. Our server was Michelle. Food was fast, hot and delish! Prices fairly reasonable too. Heard the chicken and biscuit was awesome..Benedict was average..kids loved the chocolate chip pancakes!!

This place is a hole in the wall type establishment with amazing food. They have the best grits in the world. Of you are a true southerner you have to give them a try.

I'm a total grits snob. Most places do not have good grits. They are either too "grainy" or watery. I was reluctant about trying the grits, but they were sooo good and creamy! I got the mushroom and cheese omelet, toast, grits, and the iced latte. I also like iced coffee, but I don't like it to be too bitter. I got the caramel iced latte. It gave the coffee taste (which I like), without it being too bitter. It is delicious as well. The waitress brought out my omelet and I noticed that their was meat in it when I asked for just mushrooms and cheese. She was apologetic and fixed it right away! The pricing is "normal" and you get a lot of food. The only thing that I didn't like was the lack of parking, but then again I went on a holiday when most people had the day off. I had to park in someone's yard. Most places on JI have small parking lots anyway and you can't really blame the restaurant. Overall, it was good. I will be back!

close to five star. great value for charleston. food was made to order and came out hot and tasty. I had biscuits and gravy..yumm. My wife had egg toast and grits. all for a great price and served with a smile. bottomless cup of hot coffee and what else could you want. well, maybe a fresh coat of paint on the ceiling. I know time, age and humidity are not kind to homes and businesses in charleston, but enough with the patina...it's still charming without the extra wear and tear. No question about coming back..save me a seat by the window!

Great brunch with delicious options. Not fancy, but quality food, friendly service & a reasonable price. Pecan French toast was perfect for a sweet tooth, and the pimento cheese burger was packed with flavor.

I love this place and it never disappoints. They are a neighborhood gem and the staff is the best. There will be a wait on the weekends but it is so worth it. If they're not working with a full staff, they stagger the seating so that you don't get crappy service. FRENCH TOAST is a must, with a side of cheese grits. You won't be disappointed!

Always a good choice for breakfast or lunch. The portions are generous. The service is always great. They have delicious specialty coffees and get major points for having almond milk for lattes, since I don't do dairy or soy. You must try the biscuits!

Good food can't go wrong with breakfast or Sunday brunch which is always packed full. Enjoy blueberry pancakes. I'm alone patron meaning party of one don't mind sharing table with other loners. Yep we like to eat out too it's usually a good experience talking to strangers but I always carry my Kindle just in case

Sweetwater didn't really impress me much when we visited. It was little overpriced for JI and the food was really bland. After passing by Sweetwater for a year and seeing how crowded the parking lot was I was thinking this place was going to be great. So one day for brunch we decided to give them a try. It all started out well with us being greeted at the door and informing us about the 20 minute wait which we didn't mind since on weekend morning you will need to wait no matter where you go. After waiting we were ushered to our table and greeted by our server who was great at explaining the menu, taking our orders, and taking care of us during our entire meal. The wait for the food was long and by the time we got it we noticed that the food wasn't very warm; maybe room temperature. We were too hungry to get them to warm it; but then we were very disappointed by the taste. The food tasted bland; like something served at a retirement home. I had the biscuits and gravy; and it just had no taste too it.

Stopped for breakfast leaving our vacation at Folly and only wish we would have found this place sooner. Breakfast was awesome and very fresh. The sausage and cheese omelet had a generous portion of sausage and it was very fresh. Grits were creamy and cooked just right. The gravy biscuit was very good. The southern pecan coffee was wonderful! We will make this a regular stop when we are back in Folly.
